Object Name Stone, Throwing
Description Solid stone of granite with a curved piece of metal rebar as a handle; rock was used to throw during Basque picnics to see who could throw the farthest and be the strongest; the rock is solid grey granite with many crags and some dirt; the rock is not smooth but has many pieces taken out due to wear; the rebar goes through a hole in the middle of the stone through a smooth circular hole and is held by the rebar being in the shape of a "T" on the bottom to insure that the rebar does not slide out; the top of the rebar is made to represent a flat "D" handle and is bent at a 45 degree angle; the rebar has rust starting to show; picnics at which this was thrown had games that were supervised by Phil Uberuaga who led them for many years.
